The aim of this assignment was to explore different technologies related to our work at university. We were required to choose an area of interest to us as teachers. I chose the importance of literacy and how technology is improving literacy skills. To find this information we were to use the library databases (such as ERIC, Proquest or EdIT Lib), search engines such as Google and Google Scholar. After finding information on our topic we were to present our findings in a short report. We were to reference (in APA 6th edition) five different sources; books, journal articles, conference papers, website and a movie or podcast. I mainly used Google Scholar and ERIC to find my information. I had never heard of ERIC before and after finding most of my results through there I think its safe to say I will definitely be using this as a search engine more ofte  | I would strongly recommend Google Scholar to students!
